The Maysville-Mason County Landfill is a 544 acre permitted site located at 7055 Clarkson-Sherman Road, and is owned and operated by the Mason County Fiscal Court. The site consists of a 41 acre contained landfill, 21.40 acre residual landfill, recycling center, waste tire drop-off, composting facility.

In addition to these facilities the Maysville-Mason County Landfill also offers roll-off, dumpster, and waste wheeler services. The Maysville-Mason County Landfill is permitted to accept waste from nine Kentucky counties (Bourbon, Bracken, Fleming, Greenup, Lewis, Mason, Nicholas, Robertson, and Rowan) and seven Ohio counties (Adams, Brown, Clinton, Hamilton, Highland, Lawrence, and Pike).

Graduate of St. Patrick’s High School, B.S. Science Union College, M.S. Biology Morehead State University. Certifications include Kentucky Landfill Manager, Kentucky Composter, Wetland Delineation and Determination, Wetland Local Flora Identification Zone 1, American Society of Engineers Wetland and 404 Permitting. Member of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA).

Frequently Asked Questions

What items are acceptable for disposal in the Landfill?

All municipal solid wastes are acceptable. Liquids, lead acid batteries, tires, fluorescent bulbs, or hazardous wastes are not permitted for disposal. Any additional waste streams, such as sludges, contaminated soils, or special wastes by definition must have prior testing and approval before disposal will be allowed.

How can you get rid of unused paints?

Free liquids are not permitted for disposal in the landfill. Unused paints should be mixed with kitty litter and allowed to completely solidify before disposal.

What methods of payment are accepted?

Currently we operate as a cash or check only facility. Credit applications for large scale projects can be set up and approved after review of the credit application.
