Detention Center

Our mission is to protect the public and institutional security and safety while providing programs intended to reduce the occurrence of re-incarceration.

AboutThe Detention Center went into operation in 1990 and is a full-service jail. The detention center houses state inmates as well as inmates for Mason, Bracken, Fleming and Lewis Counties. We contract with a correctional care company to provide medical care 7 days a week for the inmates.

We offer many different programs to the inmates while in our custody including GED classes, Substance Abuse Program, Moral Recognition Therapy and gardening classes. We also have outside inmate work programs picking up roadside litter and help with residential trash pickup.
