St. Patrick School
St. Patrick had modest beginnings in the 1860's......with classes beginning in the church rectory. Expansion occurred with the the educational guidance of the Visitation Sisters and continued with the Sisters of Loretto. By 1902 the school educated 8 grades and by 1910 there were over 300 students attending when the Sisters of St. Frances of Clinton served the community. The high school was opened in 1926. The school occupied many local buildings until 1947 when the current elementary wing was started. New Classrooms and gymnasium were added in 1957 and in 1999 the new high school wing and gymnasium upgrade was completed.

Buffalo Trace Area Development District
The creation of Area Development Districts in Kentucky stemmed from the efforts of local elected officials and citizens to find collaborative means to deal with problems that befell their communities. The combination of federal programs and state enabling legislation provided a national strategy and funding mechanism that allowed the concepts to become reality in the late 1960's and 1970's.
The Area Development Districts, as they now exist, serve as forums, clearinghouses, technical centers and as conveners for the region. Unlike many other organizations structured along multi-jurisdictional lines, the ADDs have both federal and state statutory authority.
